LBank Labs, the independent venture capitalist of centralized crypto exchange LBank, is collaborating with more than ten universities to offer summer bootcamps to students interested in Web3.

As part of the program, a maximum of 15 teams will have the opportunity to meet with leading crypto funds such as BAI Capital, Hashed, and Hashkey Investments, who will serve as mentors.

The mentors will provide valuable insights on topics such as corporate utilization of Web3 technologies, product roadmaps, and legal best practices. Participants will engage in various daily activities, including surfing classes and hiking, in addition to their scheduled lessons.

Alejandro Vargas, Entrepreneur in residence at Hashed, will serve as one of the mentors for the international group of talented individuals. “The program’s global scope and collaborative spirit will pave the way for groundbreaking innovation and forge lasting connections in the industry across borders,” said Vargas.

In addition to the sponsored trip and mentorship, teams will also receive a bootstrap fund of $10,000 and access to Labs’ extensive network.

Global network of university partners

Several prestigious universities in the US, including Ivy League schools, as well as top academic institutions such as Columbia University, Stanford, Berkeley, USC, ASU and Carnegie Mellon University, are participating in the program through their respective Blockchain Clubs.
Additionally, leading colleges in Europe, Asia and Latin America, such as Imperial College London, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tec de Monterrey and Blockchain Business School Paris, are also involved in the initiative.

“We are committed to bringing budding talent closer to the world of blockchain and digital assets. There’s no better way to do this than in an environment where they can relax and get a chance to network with peers, investors from top Web3 funds and crypto industry veterans,” said Valeria Kholostenko, Principal investor of LBank Labs US.

The approach taken by Labs to engage with educational institutions to attract emerging talent is not new. In January, the venture capital firm entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chung-Ang University in South Korea to foster local blockchain startups.

$100 million assets under management

LBank Labs has reported managing assets worth more than $100 Million. The venture capitalist has a strong focus on Seed Stage deals, while maintaining connections to at least 12 funds that manage around $1 Billion in assets through Labs’ Fund of Funds.

Recently, Labs opened an office in San Francisco at the end of January, while maintaining a presence in Dubai and Shanghai.
