Cross elasticity describes the response of the demand for one commodity to changes in the price of another commodity, such as an increase in the price of beef will lead to an increase in the demand for chicken.


In financial markets, the concept of resilience also applies. The sensitivity of stock prices to changes in company performance, macroeconomic data, and market sentiment can all be measured by resilience. A market with high resilience is usually more volatile, and investors need to be more cautious.


In conjunction with blockchain technology, resilience is also particularly important. The resilience of a blockchain network can be manifested in two aspects: transaction volume and computing power. A highly resilient blockchain network can quickly adapt to changes in transaction volume and ensure stable operation of the system. For example, the design of the Bitcoin network allows block size and difficulty to adjust to cope with changes in transaction volume and computing power, thereby maintaining its operating efficiency and security.


Decentralized finance (DeFi) also utilizes the concept of resilience. DeFi platforms automatically adjust interest rates through smart contracts to balance the supply and demand of funds. In addition, the importance of resilience is also reflected in the supply chain management application of blockchain. By tracking and recording supply chain information in real time, companies can adjust production and inventory more flexibly, adapt to changes in market demand, and reduce waste and costs.
